Due to his goods deeds of returning what he does not own, a
pedicab driver was awarded by Calapan City Mayor Paulino Salvador
“Doy” C. Leachon last November 16 at the City Mayor’s Office,
City Government of Calapan.
Elmer Como, 28 years old, a pedicab driver from Brgy.
Canubing II but is now living in Brgy. Ibaba West voluntarily
returned the money left in his pedicab by Rosemaria Almasan, 30, a
resident of Brgy. Tibag,
Calapan City
and a balot vendor.
Como’s good
deed is not the first in his show of honesty as a pedicab driver
in the City. He already returned a cellphone unit, money and some
important documents of his passengers in the past. All these got
the attention of the City Mayor and immediately summoned Como to
award the driver with a plaque of recognition, cash reward and
medical assistance for his wife who has been suffering from stray
bullet wounds.
According to Mayor Leachon,
Como
is the best example of a new Calapeño who has managed to remain
honest and dependable even in the midst of various economic crisis
that are rampant in the country today.
Meanwhile,
Como thanked the City Government and Mayor Doy for the award and
financial assistance that were given to him. In return, he
promised to continue doing good deeds and to serve as a model
citizen of Calapan City. |
