Population

The City of Calapan registered a total population of 105,910 in Year 2000 with a growth rate of 1.88 percent between the Year 1995 and Year 2000. Also, 20,934 numbers of households were recorded.

From the 62 barangays of the city, Barangay Salong is the fastest growing barangay from 1995 to 2000 with a growth rate of 16.24 percent, followed by Balite with a rate of 12.57 percent.  Not very far behind are barangays Mahal na Pangalan and Masipit, with growth rates of more than 8 percent for the same period.
